No matter the journey you embark on, there is always a parcours of learning, organizing, testing, practicing, implementing best practices on repeat. Whether that's starting a business, publishing a book a first time or... shifting to a plant based lifestyle.
A lot can happen during that time of putting your foot in something completely new. At first, you may 'fail' more than you succeed.
(That's ok. It is called 'learning.')
Actually, it may take much longer to get it right for a few reasons -and sometimes I do bump into them myself as well-.
โค Not asking for support (there's still shame in acknowledging that you need help with something as natural as 'eating' for instance).
โค Sitting in the fear of making mistakes (I was there for a few weeks before deciding to tackle publishing slowly but steadily, step by step).
โค Gathering proof for what you believe, and talking yourself out of your intention (we SO love being "right")
These are a few things I address in my book when it comes to making health priority number one in life.
As the go-getters we are, we expect immediate success from our efforts, no matter the subject.
But being successful in your business doesn't mean that you have all the solutions for your wellness while hammering on your empire.
I see many women in business making changes (yay) but completely missing the point, because they go with the mainstream quick-fix-industry, convinced they are doing well.
โค A pre-packaged protein shake for breakfast doesn't teach you about the mentality shift it takes to create supportive habits and consistency.
โค Lab produced vegan meat doesn't show you how much better you can do when you make your own from genuine ingredients that truly nourish your energy and productivity.
โค A freezer full of ordered smoothies and 'meals' doesn't tell you how much BS you are still consuming, failing at making the behavioral shift you need more than anything else.
So yeah, you want to know what real -healthy- food is when you put in effort, time, energy and money.
You will be stunned at the effects on your body and mind, how much time you will free up for yourself, how much longer you will live in good health and how much money you will save.
